James L. Budros, CFP®
Jim Budros is the founder of Budros, Ruhlin & Roe, Inc. and Chairman of the Board of Directors. His professional accomplishments and more than 40 years of experience in the financial planning, investment and trust industries have solidified his reputation as one of America’s leading financial advisors. He is a Certified Financial Planner™ certificant.
Jim is a board member of the Bexley Community Foundation and the Kidd Family Foundation. He is a former chair and board member of the Columbus School for Girls and a former co-chair of the Professional Council of the Columbus Foundation.
In 2012, Jim was inducted into the Junior Achievement of Central Ohio Business Hall of Fame, and in 2011 he was the recipient of the Society of Financial Service Professionals "Hall of Fame" award, in recognition of his lifelong dedication to the financial services profession.
He was elected the first chair of the Certified Financial Planner™ Board of Practice Standards, and served as a member of the Certified Financial Planner™ Board of Governors for six years. Jim was consistently named one of the “Best Financial Advisers” in the U.S. by Worth magazine and appeared on the cover of Barron’s featuring America’s top financial planners.
He holds a B.A. in business administration from Hanover College, an M.B.A. from Texas Christian University, and a M.S. in financial services from The American College. He is an honors graduate of the National Graduate Trust School at Northwestern University.
Jim is a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA), the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) and the nationally recognized wealth management consortium, The Alpha Group.
Jim is married to Susan, and they have two children and six grandchildren, all of whom live in Columbus.
